A LITTLE ABOUT WHO WE ARE…

Comprising two exceptional choirs, The Sunday Night Singers and SNS Chorale, SNS Choirs has played a pivotal role in nurturing musicians' talents, transforming them into accomplished professionals. This commitment to embracing a wide range of voices is at the core of its success.

The Sunday Night Singers - A mixed chamber group with a wealth of choral experience and training, The Sunday Night Singers have journeyed across the globe, competing and performing internationally. They graced the stages of the International Musical Eisteddfod in Llangollen, Wales, as well as the World Choir Games in Cincinnati and Riga, Latvia. In a momentous year, 2012, they won the Mixed Chamber Choir category at the World Choir Games.

Participation in conferences and festivals is a core aspect of the group's endeavors. Their presence was felt at the American Choral Directors Association Western Regional Conference in 2016 and the California Choral Directors Association Conference in 2019. Invitations to join the 2019 International Choral Festival in Missoula, Montana, and their return engagement in July 2023 underscore their global acclaim. Annually, the group graces the L.A. County Holiday Celebration broadcast on PBS SoCal from The Music Center on Christmas Eve.

With three remarkable albums to their name, The Sunday Night Singers have captivated audiences with Stacey V. Gibbs' "Didn't it Rain," Joshua Shank's "Color Madrigals," and their heartwarming holiday album "An A Cappella Christmas."

The Sunday Night Singers Chorale (SNS Chorale) - Founded in 2015, SNS Chorale's debut performance at the Soraya Performing Arts Center, alongside the Northridge Singers and California State University's Symphony Orchestra, showcased their commitment to excellence by performing Brahms' Requiem. The repertoire of SNS Chorale has since expanded to include masterpieces such as Faure's Requiem, Beethoven's 5th Symphony, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Schubert's Mass in G, and Lauredson's Lux Aeterna.

SNS Chorale is a harmonious blend of voices and experiences, with its over 70 members spanning various ages, from high school students to senior citizens, and everyone in between. This intergenerational ensemble is a reflection of LA County's vibrant and multifaceted musical community, united by their collective love for music and their commitment to inclusivity.

SNS Choirs, with its unwavering dedication to embracing diverse voices, continues to shine as the Antelope Valley's premier choral organization, connecting communities through the power of choral music.

FROM THE BEGINNING

OUR HISTORY

sns 2011.jpg

In 2005 director Mike McCullough was asked to provide singers for a birthday party.  He asked a few of his previous students to participate. The small group was a success and had fun singing together, so they stayed together. The name “Sunday Night Singers” (SNS) came naturally as they rehearsed on Sunday nights. Members have since come and gone as they began new chapters of their lives, but the ensemble continues to sing with a love and passion that has never changed.  SNS now consists of a mix of college students and professionals who participate simply because they love singing together.
