THE SEASON

Featuring SNS Chorale and The Sunday Night Singers

The Seasons is more than just the closing concert of our season. It’s a reflection of the journey we’ve taken as a choir over the last 20 years. Like the changing seasons, our singers have grown, evolved, and flourished. Joshua Shank’s music, which has become foundational to who we are, beautifully captures this natural cycle of life and transformation.

This special performance features The Seasons, multi-movement works that have not only become some of our favorites, but have helped shape our identity as an ensemble.

Featuring SNS Chorale and The Sunday Night Singers, this concert also includes the full sets that will be performed by The Sunday Night Singers in Denmark this summer as part of the prestigious Grand Prix of Nations.

As we celebrate 20 years of music-making, we invite you to join us for an evening that honors the past, embraces the future, and highlights the enduring power of choral music.

The Music Exchange | Desert Youth Voices

Join us on Wednesday, April 23, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Desert Willow Middle School for the DYV Music Exchange, an evening of music, reflection, and community. This special event celebrates the completion of the first full year of Desert Youth Voices, a choir created to bring together young singers from across the Antelope Valley.

The program will include performances by students from Desert Youth Voices alongside guest singers from The Sunday Night Singers, highlighting the spirit of collaboration and mentorship that defines this ensemble. As part of the evening, we are proud to present the world premiere of a newly commissioned work by composer Brian Quan, written in partnership with students and inspired by their reflections on what it means to be part of a community.

The Music Exchange is a space where voices from the community come together not just to perform, but to connect. Following the performance, guests are invited to stay for a light reception and celebrate with the singers, families, and teaching artists who helped shape this milestone year.

Admission is free, but advance reservations are required due to limited seating. We invite you to be part of this meaningful celebration of youth, music, and unity.

In The Midst: A Human Experience

Featuring The Sunday Night Singers

We’re excited to launch our season with In The Midst: A Human Experience, a concert that invites the audience to explore the emotions that unite us all. This will be a moment of reflection and contemplation, as we explore themes of compassion, hope, and love through moving choral works.

Caroline Shaw’s To the Hands, performed with string quintet, creates a bridge between past and present, calling us to reflect on our collective responsibility toward those in need, especially in today’s global context. Jake Runestad’s Please Stay addresses the often-silenced topic of mental health, offering a message of hope and support for those in difficult times. Susan LaBarr’s Love Then and Still provides a beautiful and poignant reflection on love’s resilience through loss.

This concert is free of charge, but we require a reservation to make sure we save you a seat, as our tickets often sell out quickly. Be sure to reserve yours today! We invite you to consider making a donation. Your contribution directly supports our programs and helps us continue bringing high-quality performances like this one to our community.
